Troopers have yet to reveal the identities of two victims on Funny River Road who presumably perished in a house trailer fire early Tuesday morning.
A call went in to troopers at 2:17 am, reporting a structure fire on Soldotna’s Funny River Road. Troopers, along with Central Emergency Services and Homer Electric personnel, responded to the scene.
The fire was suppressed, and CES confirmed the reports that two people were in the structure when it went up in flames after combing through the burned out trailer.
The remains of the two victims have been transported to the State Medical examiner’s office in Anchorage for positive identification and autopsy.
After being notified of the incident, a Deputy Fire Marshal responded from the State Fire Marshal’s office. The cause and circumstances of the fire are under investigation.
