Wasilla Man Attempts Flight from Troopers, Collides with Wall

trooperarrestAlaska State Troopers reported that on Tuesday as they had responded to a residence on North Willow Drive during an investigation, they contacted a man, later identified as 27-year-old Chance Gypin of Wasilla. He was contacted as he sat in a vehicle in the driveway of the residence.

But, Gypin would immediately attempt to flee from the troopers. He put the vehicle in reverse and attempted to get away, almost running over a State Trooper in the process. Gypin’s fight was short-lived, he crashed the vehicle into a wall, exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, but was immediately apprehended.

He did not give up easily, and fought with troopers as they worked to restrain him.

Gypin was charged with Assault III and transported to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility in Palmer, where he was held without bail. A check of online court records and warrants showed no recent activity, and no cause for his flight attempt.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
