Wasilla Homeowner Blocks Driveway, Thwarts Vehicle Theft

vehicle theftA Wasilla homeowner thwarted the theft of a vehicle from his driveweay on Monday according to the trooper dispatch.

Troopers responded to the scene near mile 4 of Fairview Loop at 7:26 pm on Monday evening to find that the homeowner had blocked his driveway to keep two car thieves from stealing a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am.

The investigation at the scene revealed that “Martin Vandever-age 44 of Wasilla and Alison Hooks-age 32 of Wasilla, were attempting to steal┬áthe vehicle when they were caught in the act,” the trooper dispatch reported.

Troopers arrested Vandever and Hooks and charged them with Attempted Vehicle Theft I, Criminal Mischief I and III, Criminal Trespass I, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV.

Following their arrest, Vandever and Hooks were transported to Palmer and remanded both to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. Vandever’s bail was set at $3,000 while Hooks was held without bail.[xyz-ihs snippet=”Adsense-responsive”]
